Summary: Satan is bound with a chain and imprisoned in a bottomless pit. We learn when the binding of Satan happened, and what Satan is restricted from doing. We also learn when the kingdom of Christ began and how it continues to grow. Jesus has given us a mission in that kingdom, and we find encouragement in this text because Jesus has been victorious over Satan.
