Summary: “You ain't from around here, are ya?" God's people are resident aliens wherever they live. In His mercy, God calls out people from the world to be His own and then leaves them here to testify of His greatness. Peter wrote of this in his first letter, encouraging scattered, persecuted believers. Thrust from their homelands, they were people stripped of national rights and roots. Yet, God gave them a radical new identity, hope, home, and mission. Us too!
