Summary: When the Roman soldiers who were guarding the tomb reported to the Jewish rulers that an angel had appeared and Jesus was gone from the tomb, the Jewish rulers chose to fabricate a false story rather than tell the truth. Their actions illustrate why many deny the resurrection even today. As Christians, we instead want to be people who believe truth, know truth, and speak truth.
